KartCompare ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website kartcompare.app (the "Site") and the KartCompare Android app (package app.kartcompare.mobile) — together, the "Services". This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Services. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the Services.
2. Information we collect
Automatically collected data: When you use the Services, our servers may automatically log standard data provided by your web browser or app, including your IP address (anonymized where possible), browser or app version, pages visited, time and date of visit, time spent on pages, and referring website addresses.
Location data: With your permission, we use your device's approximate or precise (GPS) location to rank nearby dark stores and pickup points, estimate delivery times, and calculate indicative ride distance and fares. Location is only requested while you are using the Services (foreground only) — we never collect location in the background. You can decline or revoke the permission at any time in your browser or device settings and instead set a pincode or drop a pin on the map manually. Coordinates are used to look up rates and are cached on your device; we do not build location history profiles.
Analytics data: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. Plausible anonymizes all visitor data. We also collect crash and diagnostic reports to fix errors.
Local storage: We store your selected pincode, last used location, recent searches and compare-cart items in your browser's or app's local storage so the Services remember your preferences between visits. This data stays on your device.
Email address (optional): If you choose to receive price-drop alerts or contact us, we store the email address you provide and use it only for that purpose. You can unsubscribe at any time.
No account or login: The Services do not require registration, accounts, or passwords. We do not collect payment information.
3. Cookies, ads and tracking
We do not use traditional tracking cookies, and Plausible Analytics does not use cookies. We display advertising through Google AdSense; Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising in your Google Ads settings or through your browser or device settings.
4. How we use your information
We use the limited information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the Site
- Understand which products users search for most, so we can expand our price catalog
- Detect and prevent technical issues or abuse
- Improve the Site's functionality and user experience
5. Third-party services and links
The Site contains links to third-party websites and apps (Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, BigBasket). Clicking these links takes you away from our Site. Since we collect minimal data and do not require accounts, most information stays on your device — you can clear it any time from your browser or app storage settings, and you can revoke the location permission in your device settings. To request deletion of anything we hold (for example an email address used for price alerts), write to support@kartcompare.app and we will action it within 30 days.
